专家认为，该项目填补了塑料助剂领域的国内外空白，是完全自主创新成果。这一成果的取得，对我国塑料加工业具有重要意义，不仅对高分子助剂行业的发展有促进作用，同时对稀土功能材料领域和高分子材料改性领域也将产生深刻影响，更重要的是推动了塑料助剂行业传统技术及概念的变革，为将我国丰富的稀土资源优势转化成产业优势提供了成功典范。
据介绍，目前受高性能助剂研发水平所限，我国以通用树脂为主，中低档产品所占比例高，高技术、高附加值产品缺乏，特殊工程塑料产品比例更低，塑料制品质量与国外相比存在一定差距，各类塑料助剂的生产和研发难以满足市场需求。新型高效多功能稀土助剂作为高分子材料工业不可缺少的重要成分，不仅能赋予材料特殊的性能，还能显著改善塑料的加工性能，提升产品品质，有助于改善我国塑料加工业高档产品匮乏的现状。专家建议，应针对不同的应用领域，尽快开发系列化制品，并抓紧产业化进程。
